It’s interesting to think about the history of NJ and how we came to be the state that we are today. Throughout Social Studies, we have learned how and why the colonies came to be. But what we have not gotten into yet, is how it came to be that very soon these 13 colonies would begin to revolt. In the next few months we will begin to learn about the American Revolution and how it started. Why do you think the colonists decided to fight against the British? What do you already know about the American Revolution?

In Wonder, we are lucky enough to be introduced to many amazing characters. Each one of them has a profound impact on Auggie. Think about Jack Will’s role in the book. Do you think Jack is a “bad” kid? Have you ever treated a friend the way that Jack has?

When Via calls Miranda a “jerk”, Auggie quickly shouts “no she’s not!” I find his reaction to be almost panicked. Why might Via’s relationship with Miranda concern Auggie so much?
A “Wonder”ful Book
It seems only appropriate that one of our posts be about Wonder. This book has already taken us through August’s experiences at school and the amazing people that support him in his life. Who do you think is the one person August would have a hard time living without?
